“That’s Just Your Interpretation!”

This was helpful to me and I thought it might be helpful to you as well.
Taken from Way of the Master Radio segment:

The next time someone says “that’s just your interpretation of the Bible”, have them read the verse and ask them how they might interpret it differently. Ask them to give reasons why they would choose one interpretation over the other. Ask them if their interpretation matches what the author intended to say. Remember, the question is not “who’s interpretation is this”, but “is this interpretation correct”.

  1. You don’t do this when we discuss Scripture. Why not? Sounds like a great way to learn about other people and their relationships with God.

  2. I LOVE these questions. I just haven’t thought about using them recently.
